Capture fleeting moments in time, shooting at up to 20 fps¹ with a silent electronic shutter, and up to 12 fps¹ with a mechanical shutter – all accompanied by continuous tracking AF that focuses in as little as 0.05 sec³. A high-speed DIGIC X processor offers new levels of image processing.

Use long shutter speeds in new ways: the EOS R5 incorporates a 5-axis Image Stabilizer that can work together with a lens’s own IS system to deliver up to 8 stops² of protection against camera shake. A new low-noise shutter helps you stay discreet.

Keep moving subjects sharp with an AF system programmed using deep-learning AI to recognise bodies, faces and eyes, ideal for travel and wedding photography. The EOS R5 also tracks members of the dog and cat family, as well as birds – even in flight.

Video has never looked so good: 12-bit 8K RAW footage captures an astonishing amount of detail, while 4:2:2 10-bit 4K can be shot at frame rates up to 120 fps for slow-motion like never before, or oversampled from 8K for exquisite detail.

This 8K professional camera features continuous focusing and image stabilisation when shooting video, for results that look so good you’d think they’d been shot on a Hollywood budget. Zebra patterns help filmmakers to judge exposure accurately.

Look through an electronic viewfinder so advanced it feels like there’s nothing between you and your subject, thanks to 5.76 million dot resolution, 100% coverage and a 120 fps refresh rate. A Vari-Angle screen helps with composition from unusual and creative angles.

The Canon EOS R5 can capture JPEG, HEIF or Raw files and dual card slots let you save different files to different locations. One slot accepts lightning-fast CFexpress cards – we recommend CFexpress 1.0 (400 MB/sec or higher) for optimum video performance – while the other supports SD cards up to V90 UHS-II speeds.

The EOS R5 uses 5 GHz Wi-Fi to upload images directly to the cloud via image.canon and to link with smart devices for file sharing and remote camera control – great for travel photography and photojournalism. Always-on Bluetooth®⁴ makes it easy to get connected.
